We had a busy 4th this year, full of activities and fun. We started out at David's ward for a pancake breakfast with crafts and games for the kids. It's where they made their cool crowns. That afternoon we went t my ward for a flag ceremony, dinner and swimming. Austin got to participate in the flag ceremony and he did a wonderful job! We ended the evening with some sparklers and fireworks out on the sidewalk.

Danny #5!
Danny's 5th birthday was all about pirates!
We did it at a little local water park so the kids got to play in the water. My best friend Melinda was a huge help with all the really cool pirate decorations. The kids also got to go on a treasure hunt to find the hidden treasure, guarded by a mighty and fierce pirate. The treasure chest was a pinata, but somehow I managed to not get any pictures of it ! Danny had such a blast playing with all his friends and getting all sorts of great birthday loot!
Yay! Here are some pictures my mom got that show our fearsome pirate Uncle Mark and the treasure chest.

Day Trip to See the Boys
David and I took a day trip down to Santa Cruz to spend a day with the boys. They were with their dad for 3 weeks and I just couldn't go that long without seeing them. We played at the river, the ocean, the park and had pizza for dinner! It was a long, busy day but it was so very worth it!

Tyler's Birthday
Tyler turned 8 in June. His birthday is just 2 days before Danny's - how much fun is that! He wanted a knight themed party and we had a lot of fun with it. David made catapults out of Popsicle sticks that launched marshmallows into a cardboard castle. Then he built a bigger catapult that launched water balloons! The girls and I made and decorated the cupcakes, and made Tyler his very own Dunning family crest t-shirt.

Stupid Deer
Stupid deer - hanging out in the middle of Latrobe Road after midnight - ended up totaling my car. I wasn't really hurt, thankfully, and it ended up being a blessing in disguise as I would be needing a vehicle to fit 8 people in it sooner rather than later! So now I have a new-to us Toyota Sequoia, and I love it!
