Danny Starts Taekwondo!

Danny has been waiting and waiting and waiting for his chance to start taekwondo and he finally got to start. He loves it and does pretty good since he has been watching Austin do it for the last year. He is also just so darn cute!

Kickboxing Art

I started a kick boxing class this week. I am loving it even though I have been very sore. When I came back from class last time Austin had made this piece of art for me. He made a 3-D triangular room, then added some glittery punching bags to the walls and finished by adding two standing figures (me and Mrs. Snyder. She teaches at his school and he thinks it is so cool that we do the class together.). He also mentioned to me that one of us is supposed to be holding an axe!...? I am not quite sure just what he thinks we learn in class but I assure you no axes are involved!

The Illuminated Word Project

I am very excited to share with you a new photographic project I have been invited to participate in called the Illuminated Word, along with 7 other amazing women.  It is the brain child of my friend and fellow photographer, Gail, who wanted to be able use her talent of photography to express her love of Christ.  She came up the concept that we would each choose a scripture, monthly, that speaks to us, and then find a way to express that scripture with our photography.  I have never tried anything like this before but I am excited to take this journey.  The first month of posts are up and ready to go.  To start you can visit my new blog

Wanted: One Rocketship

On our way home tonight we had our FHE In the car; a story, some discussion and songs. We talked a bit about how after we die we get to go to heaven. Danny asked me, "But mommy, how will we get there? We don't have a rocketship".

New Phone Photos

I have been having so much fun with my "new" phone, thanks to my bestest baby sister ever!  I especially enjoying taking photos with it and playing with the fun effects.  It is nice to be able to have a decent camera with me all the time to capture the little moments when I don't have my real camera around.

At the Beach with Elissa

My friend Elissa drove down with me to Santa Cruz to get the boys.  Of course we went early so we could go to the beach.  I took her to Natural Bridges, my favorite, so we could see the butterflies and the beach!

 When we arrived to pick up the boys Austin came running, jumped into my arms, and wouldn't let go.  It's a good thing I saw him coming or he would have knocked me down!  It made my heart feel so good though to have that reaction from my boy who is growing up so fast!

Austin #9 Birthday!

Lazer tag, glow in the dark fun, Tron cupcakes, crazy, chaotic, lots of cool presents, pizza with the family . . . Austin had a blast!

 Every year for the boys' birthday I write a list of words and phrases that describe them, their likes and interests.  I still have yet to start Austin's list for this year but I would love to hear any ideas you would put on a list for him  :)
