My Little Knight

Today we got a break in the rain and had a beautiful afternoon.  I took advantage of the sunshine and soft ground and planted some flowers, including my pretty new lavender bushes!

Danny was quite entertained with the plastic pots they came in . . .
And another favorite thing for Danny to do is play puppy.  I even caught him eating cheerios of the kitchen floor, just like a puppy.
And another picture of our Gypsy girl, she is getting so big!

Missing!

Last night, as I was getting ready to go to bed, I went in to check on the boys as usual, only to find that Danny was missing!  I checked all over their room, my bedroom, the bathroom, the spare room, and nothing.  I knew he had to be upstairs, I just couldn't figure out where!  I finally found him, in the last place I expected, sound asleep in the top bunk with Austin!

Birthday Miscellany

So today is my birthday.  I woke up to find some beautiful, sunshiney yellow, Gerbera Daisies on the table from Bryce (which were especially nice to see because it is cold and gray and rainy here today).  When Austin found out it was my birthday he got really excited.  He told me that he was going to make me a present.  I told him that he didn't need to and that being a good listener and helper today that would be the best gift of all.  His response to that?  "That's okay, I think I'll just make you a present instead."  Such a funny boy!
Bryce and I actually went out and celebrated my birthday over the weekend with some friends because we knew it wouldn't happen today.  (Not only is Bryce working today but he has a jury trial before work.)   We went down to Monterey and ate at the Lalla Grill, went to a movie and just had a blast being out with friends.  And I got to sleep in the next morning and go to Borders to get a new book!

Bryce got me a birthday "moose"!
Today I plan on getting some chores done around the house in anticipation of my mom, dad and grandma, coming down this weekend.  After Austin gets out of school I think we will make some sort of baked goods and have a little mini party!

Return to Greyhound

For Mother's Day this year, I requested my gift be some time alone with Bryce.  So on our day together we decided to take a picnic lunch up to Greyhound Rock, which is where he proposed to me.  The day was beautiful and sunny, but very windy!  We spent hours combing the beach for sea glass and shells, exploring the tidepools and running crazy with Gypsy!
We also climbed back up on the rock to the exact spot he proposed, so we could take some pictures.  The evening that he proposed to me it was getting dark, the tide was coming in, it was cold and super windy.  I was really cold, and the wind kept whipping my hair in my face and making my eyes water, so Bryce took my hood and pulled it in tight around my face.  I wasn't exactly looking like I had always imagined I would, but in the whole scheme of things that didn't really matter!  Right after I said "Yes, yes, yes, yes!", he joked that it was a good thing I had said yes or he would have thrown me over!  So, anyway, I took these pictures to capture the nostalgia of that most wonderful day 12 years ago!
